1. Natural carpet cleaner
Get rid of all those dark, dirty, and muddy stains on your upholstery and mats with this all natural solution by The Balance. They say you should mix white vinegar and baking soda together to create a paste, then work it right into the problem area with a toothbrush. Let it dry completely then vacuum it all up. Your car will look brand new!
2. Use a cheap foam brush or paint brush to dust
Get into the vents and all around the knobs with a small bristle or foam paintbrush. To keep everything extra clean, follow it along with the vacuum as you wipe it down to suck up all that dust.
3. Olive oil to condition and polish the leather on your dashboard
Don’t use those toxic sprays or wipes to clean your dashboard any longer. Mommy Footprint has an awesome DIY for making that leather look shiny and new and all you’re going to need is a cloth and some olive oil.
4. Spray bottle of water and a squeegee to remove pet hair
This is better than any vacuum your seats have had. Fill up your spray bottle and lightly wet your seats. Then, with a squeegee like you would use in the shower, drag it along the seats. Instantly you’ll see all that pet hair come right to the surface.
5. All natural car freshener
Kick those toxic car fresheners to the curb. Bloggers Jen and Joey suggest mixing baking soda and essential oils inside a mason jar with holes in the top to eliminate odors from your car and leave it fresh. All you have to do is place it in a cup holder or on the floor in a secure spot and you’re ready to go.
6. Streakless windshield wipers
Wipe down your windshield wipers with regular household rubbing alcohol and it will prevent a smearing and smudging.
7. Vinegar and newspaper for streak free windows
Fill a spray bottle up with vinegar, let it sit for a few minutes and then wipe it all off with newspaper. It sounds crazy, but it’s going to leave your windshield streak free.
8. Shiny chrome wheels
Mix equal parts water and vinegar and put it in a spray bottle. Spray all over your chrome then wipe it down with a rag for super shiny wheels.
9. All natural wheel cleaner
Mix some baking soda and water into a paste, rub it all over your wheels with a brush, then rinse it off for wheels that look like they’ve just rolled out of the auto shop.
10. Good old organic car wash
Don’t go out and pay for a car wash that covers your car in chemicals. Use the all-natural liquid castile soap — which is made from plant oils — and mix it up with some water. Lather up your car, wash, rinse and you’re ready to hit the road in your totally clean car.
